A Reliable and Effective Panic Cure?

by Dayne Stevens on November 10, 2010

Panic is caused by fears or phobia on a certain object or situation. Panic can be cured if the phobia and fear causing the anxiety attacks is dealt with. Psychologists have established several programs and treatments which can be used as a panic cure to deal with mental problems of patients. People should understand how panic occurs. Panic is a reaction which has been created due to misconceptions and strong emotions associated with an object.

A good example would be panic reactions associated with a spider. The person could have experienced a bad situation or watched a violent movie featuring a spider. Due to this, the person could associate the feared object with death or distress. The only way to cope up with panic and fear is by changing the misconceptions and introducing a more acceptable and pleasant idea regarding the situation and fear. This would allow the person to react more appropriately instead of resorting to panic and anxiety.

Psychologists have created different ways to deal with phobia associated with panic. The fear and anxiety associated with panic can be reversed through methods that would allow the patient to renew his perspective on things. The psychiatrist needs to help the patient change his views on the things that trigger his anxiety. This can be done by giving the patient a support group. A support group is composed of people who are experiencing the same situation. The patient can get strength from other people who are in the same predicament he is facing. The people in the groups can give helpful advice since they are dealing with the same problem. Some people who have undergone treatment and got through the panic disorders are also available to help the patient.

Another effective panic cure method conducted by psychiatrists is the manipulation of ideas. Psychiatrists can relieve the panic and anxiety by changing the ideas associated with the object triggering the reaction. This can be done by reexamining the comments and reactions of the patient regarding the object or situation causing the panic. The doctor would help the patient see the positive side of the object. This can be done through examples and aids including videos, pictures and reading materials. If the patients experiences panic when seeing other people bleed, the psychiatrist can renew his negative perception on blood. The patient could be associating blood to pain and death. The doctor can show the patient how blood helps our body to function. In this way, blood can be seen as a means to live.

The appropriate panic cure should be given to patients to help them recover more properly. Since panic is associated with mental disorders and problems, the patients should be treated methodically and carefully. The mind is prone to many errors and misconceptions which is why patients elicit a lot of negative reactions including panic and anxiety. This can be prevented through education and training which can help the mind stay sharp and composed during stressful situations that trigger panic. Panic and anxiety attacks can be easily avoided and prevented through the use of the right treatment.
